Reflective Narrative:
4.1
The above courses were taught by Saito Sensei and Sekine Sensei. This was my first time to actually conduct in-depth research on a topic on my choosing so it was very beneficial to have guidance from these two on how to appropriately develop our topic, produce research questions and analyze the data collected from the surveys we conducted for our Capstone research project.
4,2&4.3
In addition, I learned how to utilize online tools such as rikaikun to help with the complex kanji that I was unable to read and also jisho.org which provided sample sentences to assist in producing more academic Japanese for our research
project. These tools are similar to the tools that are used by professional translators, so I felt at ease knowing that even advanced users of a language utilize translation tools to increase the ease of their research especially when they may be working on multiple projects like we were.
